I looked at my hands. I sat on the bed, shirtless, crying my eyes out. I knew Toby heard me. About a half hour I heard a knock on the door, I was already in bed. I had just a night gown on, reading my book. It was Toby.
"Uhh, you dressed?" He didn't open the door, yet. I eagerly at the door. Wanting him to come in.
"Yes, yes. Don't worry." I giggled. My eyes were still red. He walked in.
He stared at my bed, then the couch, then the lamp, then went to sit down. "I will stay, just for you, but then I must go in the morning, kay?" He smiled at me and showed his beautiful white teeth. I nodded and signaled my chin so he would come here.
He walked over. "Whatchu' readin', guuurl?" Toby asked.
I shrugged. "Just something I grabbed off the shelf to ease the pain." Toby hugged me.
"Please, stop worrying me, Ellie." He went to turn off the light. "Go to sleep, okay?" He took the book out of my hands.
Toby went and laid down on the couch, thinking. I laid here and weeped silently, knowing he wouldn't know what I was thinking.
You understand me. I thought. Please, please. Don't leave me. I wanted to scream. I fell asleep silently. And I fell into a dream. It was beautiful, but the sky was dark. I was at the bridge. I jumped off and woke up violently. Sweat covered my forehead and I slowly, but quietly, walked out of the room to get a drink of water. The door was a bit open, so I nudged it with my elbow and walked down the creaking hallway. Jamie was sleeping so I had to be quiet. I grasped the tap handle with my clammy hands and the water started running. I heard footsteps creak down the hallway. Fear entered my body and I turned around and grabbed the counter. It was Toby. My hand touched my chest in relief.
"What you doing awake?" He said. He wasn't wearing his shirt. My heart started pounding. I turned off the water.
"I was getting water, but I'm not thirsty anymore." We looked at eachother. My face was nervous and he was fine. I mean, FINE. Especially without a shirt. A tear blankly fell down my cheek and I heard it hit the ground in the silence of the night.
He gave me the "I'm worried" face and walked back into the bedroom as I tailed behind him. I landed in my bed and he went to the couch. The time passed and I heard the couch squeak, I didn't dare look. I felt arms wrap around me on the bed and I turned around on the bed to see Toby laying beside me. He grabbed me and began to kiss me with surprise. I grabbed the back of his head and continued to kiss him. I put my hand on his chest and rolled over to get comfortable. After about two minutes, we both got tired and stopped.
I woke up the next morning to the birds singing, and I was still in Toby's arms, on top of him. I took a glimpse of the clock. It was five in the morning. Deciding to fall back asleep, I kissed Toby on the cheek and dozed off.
The birds tweeted and I woke up, without Toby. I was laying on my back on the bed, now, alone. I leaned up and walked out of the bedroom, Jamie was in the kitchen getting ready for work.
"Where'd Toby go?" I asked as Jamie frantically sipped her coffee.
"He left at about eight." She said. I nodded, disappointingly. Jamie was silent for a couple moments. "You banged him, didn't you?" She stared at me.
"No, no. I don't sleep with random men that I don't even know his last name!"
"Then what did you do?" She stared at me sinisterly.
I rolled my eyes. "I .. I kissed him." I was floating.
"Awwe!" Jamie said. I winked and went to the coach and began to watch the news. My cell rang. It was Chris. I answered.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Ellie. I was just calling to see if you were okay."
I nodded to myself, then realized I was on the phone. "Yeah, Toby calmed me down."
"You banged him, didn't you." What the fuck? Why is everyone saying the same thing! I only slept with one other guy, before.
"Why is everyone saying that?"
"You're so predictable." He laughed. I rolled my eyes.
"No, we just kissed. Okay?"
"Oh no..." His voice went frail.
"What?"
"Ellie. Don't fall in love with this guy. Dating celebrities isn't easy." My heart started pounding.
"What?!" I yelled throughout the house.
"Yeah, he is paid to make videos for 1.5 million people on YouTube."
I just realized what I did. I made out with a celebrity. This isn't good. "Gotta go, bye." I ended the call on my iPhone.
"What?" Jamie said as I got up from the couch.
"Toby is ... famous." I almost passed out. Jamie spit her coffee everywhere.
